Regency Properties owner and Broker-in-Charge is Andrea Witherspoon. Andrea is an Ashe County native who entered the real estate profession in 1999 seeking a new challenge and opportunity for increased involvement within her hometown community. In March 2001, after seeing the on-going growth potential for the area, Andrea opened Regency Properties, a dream which became a reality. $8 million in sales in the first year was quite an accomplishment in her eyes, but netting sales in excess of $30 million in 2006, just five years into the business, was simply incredible. Since then, that sales number has continued to rise and, each year, she and her agents are grateful for this growth. Even though real estate is a demanding job, she loves it, and most would say she “lives and breathes” her work. Andrea was awarded High Country’s Top 50 in 2018 by Movement Mortgage and is striving to achieve this same honor year after year. Regardless of the real estate wish (land, residential, or commercial property), her expertise allows her to provide the appropriate information needed for buyers to make wise decisions and investments.
In 2005, Andrea received the prestigious CRS Designation and was recognized nationwide as a top producer and as one of the most professional realtors. In early 2007, Andrea participated in the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing and received accolades. Later, in 2013, she achieved the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) designation. In recent years, she has led the Regency Properties team through difficult economic times by topping sales charts throughout the region. Andrea’s deep knowledge of the area, as well as her creative energy and strong work ethic, have certainly helped her become one of the area’s most successful and respected brokers. She holds a special place in her heart for Ashe County and can tell potential buyers numerous reasons why they should start a life in these beautiful High Country mountains.
On a personal note, Andrea enjoys shopping and exercising, but most of all the joy of living in her Ashe County home with her husband, Kerry Witherspoon. She has two children, Courtlyn-30 and Cagney-24, and a step-son, Keenan-17. Courtlyn currently serves as a school administrator in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System. Courtlyn married the love of his life, Sarah, in May of 2014, and she is also a school principal in CMS. Courtlyn and Sarah have a Pomeranian puppy, “Cooper,” that Andrea lovingly calls her “grand-dog.” They also have a daughter, Hadley Calais who is now 1. Hadley is the joy in Andrea’s life. Hadley is curios, loves exploring new things, her smile is contagious and is just the sweetest 1 year old. Cagney is presently working at Sonic Automotive. She enjoys spending time on Lake Norman during the summers and exploring new places in Charlotte with her friends. Keenan is a student at Ashe County High School and enjoys football, wrestling, and outdoor activities. The entire family enjoys spoiling “the other half”– a Maltese puppy named “Saylor Pearl” and Poodle named “Quartz.”
