Pat Murphree
Although born in Charlotte my father was a career Air Force pilot and we never lived in North Carolina. Fortunately, my grandparents lived in Charlotte and their home was always “family central” where we spent many wonderful holidays and vacations.
I married my husband, Steve, in 1974 in Alabama. We both worked for IBM and after several moves ended up in Greenville, NC, in 1981. I could hardly believe it – I felt like I was finally where I’d always wanted to be – North Carolina!! We were fortunate to live in Greenville for 27 years and raise two lovely girls who now also consider North Carolina home.
As we looked toward retirement we wanted a change, now known by family and friends as “Steve and Pat’s Big Adventure”. We had been visiting the High Country for approximately 5 years and decided Ashe County was a perfect fit for us. We moved here in August of 2008 and grow to love it more each day.
Whether you are looking for a place for getaways or a wonderful place to work and play, Ashe County has it all. The citizens of Ashe, both native and “imports”, are extremely friendly with very big hearts, a strong sense of community, and a love of the beauty that surrounds the area.
Steve and I feel quite fortunate to be associated with Regency Properties, a local agency owned by an area native who has a knowledge and love of Ashe County that we consider an invaluable resource. The time we spent researching the area, our own personal experience in the decision-making process, and our desire to assist others who are considering buying property here make us confident that we can help you find the perfect fit also. Our goal is not only to find the right property but to act as a resource for any special interests, needs, etc., that you might have. We look forward to helping you with your present or future plans!
